While I don't much care for the subject matter... (Not a big dave mathews fan...) the workmanship on the image is fantastic! Wonderful caricatures... I love the thom yorke one too! (I most certainly love radiohead too!)
I love the squished heads! They're great! And again... Very well done!

I've sort of cycled through, not different kinds of music, but different bands in the same genre throughout my life. all of dave matthews music scuplted a very influential part of my life, especially their drummer. but that's a whole different story.
for a while I thought I'd only be doing one just because I'm outstandingly lazy like that, and if had to choose only one person to draw, it would have been thom yorke anyway.
I always make a playlist of whoever I'm drawing to listen to while I draw them, and after having not listened to dave matthews band for such a long time, it brought back some interesting memories. you'd think that would be enough ro turn this into some great masterpiece... but I've never been completely pleased with either of them now that I stand back and look at them. getting better I think though...
do you draw people? I would love to see your take on caricatures. I'm sure they would be twisted enough to arouse tim burton himself.
anyway, I never did go through with the airbrush thing today. I mean, I wanted to but my art teacher had no generater or adapter for the hose. damn Damn DAMN! oh well... I'll get to that another day. but I'm still really itching to get at it after seeing what you've done.
No, I completely understand anyone's liking to music. Of any kind. Music is one of the things in this world that I try to be most open minded about. Especially when it comes to other peoples' tastes. With that said... I too have some interesting dmb memories... Mostly involving an ex girlfriend from many years ago.
I haven't really done any caricatures any time recently... NOt since ooooooooooooh, I'd say about 7 or 8 years ago... They were NOT very good haha. I've improvd a little since then... But I think I may just do one... I think it would be pretty fun. Quite interesting. Actually, I do draw "People." I have quite a few sketches in my sketchbook of them... But not to much faces. But I may just do one... IF I can find the time.
As for the whole airbrushing thing. It is an investment. Most of time. It takes time to get comfortable with one. It's a very tricky maneuver at first. If you do ever decide to get one, I recommend getting a book about them too. There are some great ones ou there. Just go through the ones at the art store and look at them and pick one that fancies you. Make sure it's got lots of really good pictures, and a good section on maintenance. Also, you can get hose adaptors at any hardware store... But you shouldn't really need to adapt anything. The hose that you get should connect to both the airbrush with no problem, and the airline with no problem. The only thing would be if the airline has quick-connects on it, in which case you'd need to spend about 80 cents on a quick connect for the hose... Although no compressor(generator) would pose a small problem... As buying one would double the price of that airbrush... Keep your eyes out for used ones at garage sales and such.. Any of those craftsman ones would work pretty well... So long as it has regulated pressure...
